David passed away on the morning of the 20th September 2021. He was aged 93. It would take many pages to cover David’s life as he lived it to the full. He had a distinguished career in the Army and he was wounded more than once on active service.
Upon leaving the service he became a teacher of fine arts specialising in ceramics, sculpture and wood. He made the altar for the church of San Blas.
He, and his late wife Greta, were founder members of the Anglican Church in the South of Tenerife and served in different capacities for many years.
David loved to walk and organised many wonderful walks on the Island. These walks were always well attended and were organised with safety a priority. David was a good dancer and was always popular at social events and he made sure as many ladies as possible got the pleasure of a dance with him.
Greta and David loved to entertain and those who were lucky enough to attend many of their parties will treasure those memories. David was a good cook and continued having dinner parties until he left the Island and went to live near his daughter Jane in Leicester.
David will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace dear David.
